Your story stays your story.

What we collect

We store the details you enter, the finished song and lyrics, and the email address used to save the preview. If you purchase, we also store your Stripe checkout identifiers and order status. If you prepare a private gift page, we store its settings, any photo you choose, and the recipient email you provide for scheduled delivery. We keep a one-way hash of your network address for abuse prevention, never the raw address in our rate-limit table. If you open My Songs, we store short-lived one-time link records and a hashed browser session so you do not need a password.

How we use it

Your answers are shared with our music production partner to make your requested song. We use order data to provide the preview, verify payment, deliver the download, prevent abuse, and resolve support requests. We also use your checkout email to send a private song library link when you request one. If you separately ask for a checkout reminder, we use your email to send one reminder for that song. Recipient email addresses are shared with our email provider only for messages you request, purchase delivery, or a private link you schedule. We do not publish your story, add preview addresses to a general marketing list, or sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Unpaid songs are scheduled for deletion after seven days. Purchased song files are retained for at least 30 days so a download can be recovered. You may request earlier deletion through Support. Do not include medical, financial, account, or other highly sensitive data.

Payments and providers

Stripe processes payment information; Tell It in Song does not receive or store full card numbers. Our hosting, storage, and music providers process data only as needed to operate the service.

Campaign measurement

If you arrive through a campaign, search engine, or referring website, we may store its source, campaign, content labels, and advertising click identifier with the order. We also count visits, links between our public pages, form starts, previews, checkouts, and purchases so we can understand which information is useful. Your story answers are not included in these measurement events.

Optional Google measurement remains off unless you allow it in the measurement notice. You can continue using the site with necessary measurement only. Campaign and order measurements are used by Tell It in Song and its advertising provider. We do not sell them.
